How many guests can Sindooram accommodate?
The villa's base occupancy is 6 adults (2 per bedroom, across 3 air-conditioned bedrooms). With extra beds added in Thira and Chira, this extends to 8 adults.
Is the villa pet-friendly?
Yes, for an additional ₹600/night. Pets stay in a covered, ventilated outdoor kennel with a fan and light, positioned beside the Thira bedroom window. Pets can use the outdoor space with their owner present, who manages them at their own risk. Pets are not permitted inside the villa.
Can we book just one room instead of the whole villa?
Currently, Sindooram is bookable as the entire villa only. If you're interested in an individual room, reach out to us directly to check availability.
Is food provided?
Home-cooked Kerala food can be arranged on prior order. Swiggy and Zomato food delivery are also available at the property if you’d rather order in.
Are children charged separately?
Children under 5 stay free as long as they're not using an extra bed.
What's the cancellation policy?
The standard Airbnb cancellation policy applies.
Do all rooms have hot water?
Yes, all 3 bathrooms are geyser-fitted for hot water.
Can we cook our own meals?
Yes, the villa has a fully equipped kitchen and dining area available for guest use throughout your stay.
What’s the wifi like?
High-speed wifi at 60–100 Mbps, suitable for remote work or video calls.
Is the property eco-friendly?
Yes. Sindooram draws water from a private well, follows composting practices, and keeps dining plastic-free as part of a genuine commitment to sustainable living.
Can we do a workation here?
Yes — high-speed wifi and quiet common spaces make it a good base for remote work, along with cafes and restaurants nearby if you want a change of scenery.
How far is the villa from Varkala and the nearby beaches?
Odayam, Vettakada and Kappil beaches and backwaters are all within 3 km of our property. Varkala’s cliff is 4.5km down the coast, about a 10-minute drive.
How far is the airport?
~46km from Trivandrum International Airport. Pickup can be arranged on prior notice for an additional cost.
Are Vettakada and Kappil good for kayaking?
Yes. At Kappil, you can wade through clear, knee-deep backwaters for a long stretch and kayak out further. Vettakada offers a mangrove walk through still, green water as well..
Is there parking?
Yes, parking for up to 3 cars.
Is alcohol allowed ?
Alcohol is welcome, but we'd prefer meals and beverages be enjoyed in the dining area rather than the bedrooms — it keeps cleanup easy and the rooms in good shape for the next guests.
Are there quiet hours?
Yes, quiet hours are observed after 10 PM out of respect for neighbours.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 2:00 PM, check-out is 11:00 AM.
